Jinu leads the Saja Boys, and he is the only one of them who was ever human. Four centuries ago he sold his soul to Gwi-Ma, and what he asked for was not power or wealth. He asked to stop remembering. He has been paying for that ever since, and he is still paying, and the memory never actually left.
This is Pisces at its most painful and most true. Pisces is the sign of dissolution, of merging, of the longing to not be so sharply and separately yourself. That longing produces mystics and it produces escapists, and the difference between the two is entirely a matter of what you do with the ache.
The Hanged Man is his card and nothing else comes close. It is the card of suspension, of the deal that stops time, of the person frozen mid sacrifice for so long that the sacrifice becomes an identity. The Hanged Man is not punishment. HUNTR/X’s manager, who has no idea about the demon hunting and manages them beautifully anyway. Fast talking, adaptable, enthusiastic about eleven things at once. Gemini as comic relief, and the film is fond of him.
Jinu’s enormous blue tiger companion. Immovable, loyal, food motivated, entirely uninterested in urgency. Taurus with fur.
The six eyed magpie who travels between the demon world and ours. Curious, chaotic, goes where she likes. Sagittarius’s restlessness in bird form.
And Gwi-Ma gets no sign at all, because he is not a person. He is The Devil itself: the voice that only ever repeats what you already believed about yourself, at higher volume.
